What to bring
To be well prepared for all conditions, we recommend bringing the following:
– Wetsuit
– Neoprene boots
– Sun protection
– Sunglasses with a strap
– Warm clothes for windy or colder days
– Towel
– Personal medication
Optional but recommended:
– Poncho
– Neoprene jacket
– Cap or beanie
– Swimwear for sauna or hot tub
– Your own waist harness if you are an advanced rider
– Your own kite equipment if you prefer riding with your own gear
Wetsuit
The weather in Denmark can be very changeable, especially during the camp season. We therefore recommend bringing more than one wetsuit option if possible.
Recommendation:
3/2 mm for unusually mild and sunny days
4/3 mm as the best all-round option
5/4 mm for colder or windier days, or if you get cold easily
If you have your own wetsuit, please bring it. It will usually fit better than a rental wetsuit.
Wetsuit sizing
The most important thing is that your wetsuit fits snugly without restricting your movement.
A good wetsuit should:
-
fit closely to the body
-
not leave large air or water pockets
-
allow full movement in the shoulders and knees
If you are unsure about your size, feel free to contact us before the camp.
Neoprene boots
Neoprene boots are highly recommended in Denmark, especially for beginners. There may be stones in the fjord, and the water can be cold.
Please bring your own neoprene boots, as we do not provide them for hygiene reasons.
Recommendation:
3–5 mm thickness, snug fit, and a solid sole for easy entry and exit.
Harness
We provide all beginners with a seat harness.
If you are already advanced and prefer to ride with a waist harness, we ask you to bring your own harness. We only have a limited number of waist harnesses available on site.
Sunglasses and sun protection
Even in Denmark, the sun on the water should not be underestimated.
We recommend bringing:
– sunscreen SPF 50
– sunglasses with a strap
– a cap or hat
